Anyone interested in a long ride before putting on the studs? Join me this Saturday for a clockwise lap of the Rotary Mattamy Greenway (so a lap of Calgary). I've done it a couple of times so can lead us through the confusing bits with no more than a few "Oh Crap" backtracking moments. It's a combination of epic and casual - 150k, lots of nice long pathway sections, about 2k of somewhat miserable gravel at the halfway point (rideable on a road bike), couple of construction detours that hopefully haven't changed much,  some sections that feel like a regular commute (road crossings), a cruise along the irrigation canal - you get the picture.

Starting in Fish Creek (Votier's Flats), easily accessible by C-Train (Canyon Meadows is closest,  Fish Creek station works too). Bail-out options at Tuscany station (50k, but by then you're at the top so why not keep going....), Saddletown, and others. My dear wife will even meet us a couple of times for resupply.  Easy pace, average somewhere in the low to mid 20's - here's my Strava from last time: https://t.co/nhIjDZZvp2?amp=1

Lunch stop about halfway at Taj Kebab (https://www.tajstreetfood.com) (or other options adjacent, or bring your own, of course). Multiple other re-supply points. And if anyone is interested, we can fire up our backyard pizza oven and celebrate the ride with pizza and beer (we're just 2k up Elbow Drive from Votier's Flats).

This is a fair weather ride, but so far the forecast looks great. Bring enough food and drink to get through a few hours. Email if interested.
