Let's ride in support of our downtown's first bike lane, the excellent separated 7th Street cycle track! Meet at the Peace Bridge at 7pm and ride off down the new cycle track. Turn onto the "sharrowed" 8th Avenue and turn around at the beginning of the Stephen Avenue Mall. We will ride back down 8th Avenue and then take the northbound lane of the 7th Street cycle track to arrive at Buchanan's for drinks. Mrs Buchanan was a vocal opponent of the new cycle track, because she thought it would ruin her business. Let us show her that bikes mean business and that cyclists support local businesses more when there is safe infrastructure in place for them to ride on. The ride is for persons of all ages and abilities, and will be at a recreational pace for its 15 or so minutes duration. Children are welcome at Buchanan's and it is up to you if you would like to bring them to the restaurant, or just on the ride.
