Please Note: (Details subject to change, or ride to be adapted)
Join us for a winter poetry ride.We will be sharing spoken word poetry and invite ANYONE to share their poetry, or poetry they have read that plays into themes of our city, cycling, winter, and/or their personal landscapes. We may even work to generate a group poem to share.
This will be a relaxed all-ages group ride, all cycling abilities, and bike types welcome – the ride is being scaled down for winter conditions to encourage participation.
Not riding? No problem! You are welcome to join us and participate at our final stop at Last Best.
Please make sure if you're joining us by bike, that your ride is in safe and working order, that you have the layers and protection you need for winter riding conditions. Young children must be accompanied by a guardian.
Ride Start: Let's meet and start warm at Alforno Cafe.
Spot Vanessa in her orange coat and orange helmet at 15:00, come a bit before if you can. Ride to depart 15:15ish.
Ride Route: We will then saddle up for a group paced ride *15:15ish* along the pathway and Cycle Track, head to the 5th St Cycle Track and ride to 11th Ave where we will dismount to cross at the lights to Last Best, and lock to the new ‘B-E-L-T-L-I-N-E’ bike racks (thanks City of Calgary and projectbikeracks).
Ride End: Last Best (All ages until 22:00), We will head to the dining room, where we’ll get warm, listen to projected poetry, bring yours.
Disclaimer Please settle all orders on your own tab. If you are 18+ and like beer, pints are $4 on Sundays.
